A primary goal at UC is to break down the walls of the classroom and deliver course information to students wherever they are – including on the phones they have with them every day.
The University of Cincinnati (UC) is looking to the future. Well-known for being on the cutting edge of information delivery in higher education, UC|21, a comprehensive academic plan in which technology plays a vital role on an increasingly mobile campus, is driving many exciting initiatives.

SHU tested alphaTXT, the basic version of clearTXT’s mobile technology, which enables broadcast messaging of emergency alerts, and news. School academics quickly recognized the potential for direct student-instructor dialog through clearTXT’s integration with Blackboard, and decided to license deltaTXT.
Seton Hall’s athletic department has now joined the academic community in taking advantage of this text-based opportunity.
Because of the flexibility and functionality native to clearTXT solutions, Seton Hall is realizing its goal of providing a campus experience for students that feels like “home.”

The University of Memphis asked clearTXT for a solution that would enable them to send text messages to the student athletic support group. What they received provided that basic functionality, plus a whole lot more in a user-friendly and cost effective manner. As a result UM expanded its objective from communicating with one group, to communicating with the entire university population using clearTXT’s solutions.
In the Fall, 2006 semester, students, instructors, and other members of the campus community will have the ability to receive messages concerning Memphis’ sports’ teams, games, and athletic events right on their mobile phones. Permission-based text messages can even alert student athletes to activities taking place within their respective support groups.
