Doug Kaufman, PhD

CEO and Founder

Doug is the CEO and founder of clearTXT. Prior to founding clearTXT, Doug provided management, strategic, and research services to both the educational and corporate sectors. Doug also spent two years developing e-Learning products at Blackboard, Inc. in Washington, DC. While in the role of Director of Product Development, he developed the requirements and specifications for the features and functionality of Blackboard's flagship e-Education software, and was the co-creator of the Blackboard Web Properties.

Before joining Blackboard, Doug created an online educational company dedicated to helping psychology students learn about and enjoy psychology. This company has been a viable online educational entity since 1998, and still thrives today.

Doug earned a PhD in Experimental Social Psychology, with an emphasis on Group Dynamics, from Virginia Commonwealth University, has been an instructor of Psychology, a presenter at various academic and scientific conferences, conducted numerous scientific investigations, and published a variety of papers in peer-reviewed academic and scientific journals. Doug received several academic awards including scholarship from and entrance to Phi Kappa Phi.

The only thing Doug is more passionate about than clearTXT is his family. When not in the office, he’s usually walking by the lake with his daughter, running around town with his wife, or cooking up something in the kitchen. And just for extra fun, Doug is co-authoring an Industrial and Organizational Psychology textbook.
